Company Background
Emadlangeni Skills Development Academy NPC was formed by Emadlangeni Social Club under the leadership of Mr Mgazi M Ntshangase in 2019 and was officially registered with Companies and Intellectual Property Commission CIPC in 2021 as a Non-Profit Company.
We are base in deep rural area of KwaZulu Natal, Utrecht Zimbuthu Village, We are an Art and Culture Academy that develops, empower and mentor our youngsters and youth from (5 to 18 years) we are offering the following: Acting Skills, Music including Marimba Band, Poetry, Dance, Drums, Soccer and Drama (Short Stories).
We have young adults and elders (18 to 52 years) doing the following: Beadwork, Sewing School Uniform, Sewing Traditional Attire: Amabheshu, Izimbatha, Didla, Izidwaba, Amahawu, Izicole, Imiqhele, We also do household accessories like Izinkemba (cooking spoons), Amacansi (Indigenous Mat), Izinkamba and Izinqoko (Wooden Meat Platter).
We also have Imbogodo Round Table where woman meet with young girls and talk to them about almost everything that a little girl will want hear from the mother, the important of this group our woman emphasis the importance of abstaining from sex of young girls in their early stage of growing. Imbokodo Round Table it also a support group were we meet and talk about our issues and we support each other.
Our mission is to provide Food Security, Warmth and Safety to all human being, to protect Woman and Children who are victims Human Rights Violation due to Domestic Violence, Rape, HIV/AIDS, Poverty, Unemployment and Covid-19 Key Purpose
The functional of the Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator Manager is to facilitate, assess and support our Learners or Sewing Machinist during their Learnership or training process. The incumbent will manage and quality-assure the embedding of Emadlangeni Skills Development Academy NPC a world-class HR approaches and processes, while ensuring that the interests and needs of our Learners are met in order to create and sustain a culture of high performance and high engagement.
A key part of the job will be to ensure that the Learnership process or operation model is effectively implemented in line with business requirements, in order to deliver on clothing SETA accreditation of our Learners competence.
Output and Accountabilities
SOP
Monitor production lines operations, ensure quality and safety standard of the company Conduct daily meeting to that Learner understand daily objectives and ensure Learners meets the assigned production targets Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for operational efficiency Manage Learners, resources allocation including station assignments and shift rotations.
Planned Maintenance
Ensure maintenance service schedules are adhered to and that all machines are serviced at all times as per schedule Record all spares used as well as downtime onto the necessary job cards Assist other technicians when required in terms of planned maintenance Preventative Maintenance Daily inspection on machinery to identify possible defects and repair timeously Minimize downtime of machinery Ensure job card procedure system is adhered to at all times.
Housekeeping
Ensure housekeeping is maintained all the time after lessons or training Ensure area where worked is left clean and machines are operational OHS Act/ Fire Regulation Ensure compliance to OHS act at all times Ensure compliance to Fire regulation policies and procedures at all times Make sure machines are safe to work on Make sure safety mechanisms are operational Shutdown maintenance / Overtime Assist with maintenance planning during shutdown period Assist with spares to be ordered as and when required General Daily machine inspections o Assist in the implementation of lean projects Assist with general maintenance in and around the plant and building.
Competence Requirements
Matric qualification or NQF Level 4
Equivalent Tertiary Qualification in textile and garment will be advantageous
Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator qualification with clothing SETA/(ETDP Seta, FP&M Seta etc)
2 years of experience with a focus on capacity building and skills training Experience and knowledge in Industrial Sewing Machines
Ability to communicate in Zulu and English Sewing Mechanic/ maintenance experience
Experience managing a teams Experience managing process and systems Strong people skills Detailed orientated Motivated and deadline driven
Willingness to work overtime as and when required
